The Ancients were right when they said that Paradise was a garden!
I would give anything to go and see this upcoming exhibition at the Seattle Asian Art Museum: Garden and Cosmos: The Royal Paintings of Jodhpur. It is showing from January 29-April 26, 2009.
"This exhibit features Indian paintings that flourished in the royal courts of Rajasthan from the 17th to the 19th century. Produced for the Rajasthan nobles, these paintings have never been published; most have been seen by just a few scholars since their creation. This is the first time these paintings will be exhibited in the United States."

What a beautiful poster and I quite agree about Paradise being a garden. A garden with wings of course. I plan to take the train up to Seattle some day. Perhaps in the Spring.
