Today I was looking though my photo archives of my trip to Georgia in the Caucasus in 2004, full of wonderful memories of magic places and friendly people...
I would like to present you some "oriental" glimpses into this littleknown country. When I say oriental, I mean the orthodox as well as the persian heritage of Sakartvelo, as Georgians call their country. Of course there re many points of view, so please forgive my choice ;-)
Oriental means for me the omnipresence of the ornament, ranging from byzantine style to th patterns of persian carpets:
